Yes, one certainly doesn&#039;t need music theory to do it, but to understand the contents of the article I posted, it would certainly help.

		<description>I love the idea of encouraging improvisation in music, and I&#039;m not sure one even needs any basic music theory to do it. Especially when thinking about voice improv. I encourage parents to make up songs--both the tune and the words--when around children, in the car, on a walk. It models freedom, creativity, and joyousness. One of my favorite lullabies is one I made up to Christina Rossetti lyrics. I sing it to my grandkids; they think it&#039;s a &quot;real&quot; one.</description>
